Event Grants Program

Surf Coast Shire Council has updated its Event Grants Program for 2026–27.

These updates strengthen community outcomes, support economic development, and improve clarity for event organisers.

The program now operates under two separate guideline documents:

Community Event Grant Guidelines (including Christmas Carols)

Open: 1–31 October 2026
For events held between 1 February – 30 June 2027
Grants between $500 – $3,000

Open: 1–30 April 2027
For events held between 1 July 2027 – 24 December 2027
Grants between $500 – $3,000

Christmas Carols
Open: 1 October 2026 – 1 December 2026

Major and Special Event Grant Guidelines

This includes two funding streams and the possibility of a multi-year funding option.

Boutique Creative/Special Focus Event Grants 

Open: 1-28 February 2027 
For events between 1 July 2027 – 30 June 2028 (excluding peak)
Grants up to $7,500

Tourism Event Grants 

Open: 1-28 February 2027
For events between 1 July 2027 – 30 June 2028 (excluding peak)
Grants up to $10,000

About the Program

Council’s Event Grants and Sponsorship Program supports events that:

• Foster economic, community and/or cultural development
• Prioritise positive environmental outcomes
• Demonstrate a commitment to accessibility and inclusion
