Heather Stewart & Sally Fitts at Hoop Gallery
Event Information
- Thu 1 Oct – Sun 25 Oct
- 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Hoop Gallery is delighted to present our next exhibition featuring the work of Heather Stewart and Sally Fitts, bringing together two distinctive bodies of work exploring movement, form and the forces beyond what we can immediately see.
In Unseen, Heather Stewart explores the invisible forces that shape our perception of the human body and the world around us. Through painting, drawing and sculpture, she considers movement, anatomy and memory. Influenced by pioneering performer Loie Fuller, Stewart’s works evoke concealed bodies and swirling fabric, suggesting movement and the unseen forces beneath the surface.
In Flight, Sally Fitts turns her attention to the avian world, exploring birds in flight and the mesmerising relationships within flocks and murmurations. Working with indigo pencil, pigment, fabric and paper, Fitts creates delicate works that move between abstraction and figuration, capturing movement, balance and collective behaviour.
Together, Unseen and Flight offer a thoughtful exploration of movement, memory and the unseen forces that shape the human and natural world.
